This International Standard was formulated to provide the minimum acceptable requirements for subsurface safetyvalve (SSSV) equipment. It covers subsurface safety valves, safety valve locks, safety valve landing nipples and allcomponents that establish tolerances and/or clearances which may affect performance or interchangeability of theSSSV equipment. Safety valve locks, safety valve landing nipples and SSSVs manufactured by different facilities ormanufacturers may be supplied as separate items.
